Job Purpose:
The Education Project Officer is accountable to carry out the following key role and responsibilities but not limited to:

The Education Project Officer is accountable to carry out the following key role and responsibilities but not limited to:

  • To be Responsible to follow up the implementation of the Detailed Implementation Plans (DIPs) for all components of the project.
  • To be Responsible for the financial management of the project.
  • She/he will assist line manager in establishing appropriate systems/ mechanism to implement the Education project in partnership with communities and Provincial/ district education authorities.
  • To Participate in Education forum meetings at provincial or district level and maintain close coordination with implementing partner.
  • To be able to Establish links among communities, hub schools, DED (District education department) and local stakeholders in order to maintain and strengthen good relationship for better implementation of the program.
  • To Hold community sensitization meetings with community leaders, religious leaders, education authorities, parents/caregivers in target locations on the right to education.
  • To Participation in the external district level education meetings and represent the program in a well manner.
  • To be able to do Awareness raisings to parents/caregivers to enroll who are OOSC.
  • To Work closely with communities SMCs (School Management councils) and the District Education Department (DED)/ Provincial Education Department (PED) to improve the quality of learning and access to higher education for girls.
  • To Supervise the performance of community learning facilitators and deliver timely required support
  • To Organize monthly and bi-monthly meetings with SMCs, DED and record through proper minutes.
  • To be able in Providing technical assistance to MEAL department in the process of project data collections and data management.
  • To Report project work progress information to line manager on regular basis.
  • To Provide necessary administrative support in facilitation of workshops and seminars for potential stakeholders and beneficiaries in the area of lesson learned, experience sharing and challenges.
  • To Generate quality project progress reports, quarterly reports, and annual reports, and or as per donor reporting schedule.
  • To Keep the records of relevant monthly and quarterly progress reports of the project.
  • To be able to Update the filling system daily, weekly and monthly bases with incoming and outgoing correspondence with DED, PED (Provincial education directorate) and MOE (Ministry of Education).
  • To Carry out any other relevant task assigned by the line manager and project team.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or social science, master’s degree in relevant field is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant managerial experience with international organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Pashto, Dari and English language.
  • Able to travel inside Afghanistan and related districts, outside of the duty station as and when required.
