Job Purpose: |
The FPC focal point/QI Coordinator will serve as a point of contact for AFIAT/MSH projects and supervisor for provincial QIOs of the mentioned projects .H/She will be responsible for effective and efficient management and coordination of all AFIAT/MSH quality improvement activities and achieving the project objectives and targets in target provinces. The position is based in JACK Kabul main office will frequently travelling to the target provinces. |
Job Responsibilities: |
- The FPC focal point/QI Coordinator will support to maintain and manage existing funding and partnership, build and support donor relations, seek new funding opportunities and monitor contract delivery of AFIAT projects.
- H/She will highly contribute in designing the HQIP checklists for implementation in each type of HF.
- Assist and provided technical guidance to the provincial project team in conducting baseline assessment to determine the needs of HFs for practicing the HQIP standards.
- Continuously monitors/supervises and follow up HFs and measures performances of the service delivery points versus the target indicators.
- Develop a follow-up action plan for addressing gaps in the implementation of HQIP and CQI.
- Continuously tracks the progress towards the follow-up action plan in each HF and provide necessary feedback to the provincial team.
- In collaboration with AFIAT team, train the QI officers and staffs on HQIP standards and CQI.
- Coordinates closely and effectively with PPHD and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the quality of health services through the implementation of HQIP and CQI in HFs.
- Supports the technical project team to improve the quality of data collection, reporting, and using.
- Ensures uninterrupted supply of medical and non-medical items to all HFs and HPs.
- Prepares and submits monthly activity and progress reports.
- Organize and manage weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annual review meetings with the provincial project team and discuss the challenges and obstacles
- Advocate at central level with JACK main office related departments to address the challenges of the project and recommend valid recommendations to the project
- Lead the communications and reporting on the AFIAT related activities, this includes quarterly bulletins, and project reports.
- Present AFIAT project progress activity reports at provincial, regional and national forums as needed.
- Conduct a detailed training needs assessment for each targeted province on AFIAT related activities
- To ensure that all relevant staff especially provincial QI officers are aware from project work schedule and updates
- Participate in Provincial Quality Improvement Team meetings conducted at Provincial Public Health or other NGO Offices for the purpose of sharing experiences and seeking solutions to the arisen problems at facility and community level.
- To ensure that progress against project key indicators is updated on monthly base at main and provincial offices
- To conduct slide presentation to all sub office co-workers on AFIAT policies, strategies and supervision system based on JACK and AFIAT capacity building unit developed orientation plans;
- To provide and submit on time mission/activity reports to his/her line supervisor on daily/ weekly base (written document or e-mail);
- Support and closely coordinate with JACK’s HR Department in the overall recruitments of AFIAT related technical staff
- Ensure lessons learned are documented, shared, and reflected in project planning and decision makings;
- Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to the Program director and other JACK senior Management team
- Any other task relevant to the project implementation.

Job Requirements: |
- Medical Doctor or Diploma from a recognized medical institution. Master Degree in Public Health will be an advantage;
- At least 2-4 years professional experience, in the area of quality improvement especially HQIP.
- Experience of capacity building, monitoring and evaluation of HQIP programs
- Fluency in speaking Dari, Pashto and English languages as well as professional business writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications and data analysis software.
- Excellent knowledge of the Afghanistan health system, BPHS/EPHS program implementation, national QI standards, guidelines, policies and strategy;
- Ability to work under pressure, flexible and able to perform multi-task,
- Ability to create a supportive working relationship with all project teams
