Job Responsibilities: |
The Health Program Focal Point will be responsible for provision of overall technical and managerial support to provincial team for effective and efficient implementation of the HER project in the target province. The position is based in central office and will frequently travel to the target province.
Activities and responsibilities:
- He/She will be responsible for the planning, organizing, implementing, supervision /monitoring of all HER project activities in the proposed province according to the project workplan and scope.
- Responsible in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly project action plans, and progressive reports according to the BPHS/EPHS work plans and ensuring the timely implementation of the project activities.
- Assist and provide timely advice to the provincial team including program supervisors and provincial managers in the planning and implementation of all project activities in the proposed province.
- Assist provincial team in preparing annual project work-plan/action-plan for the project in accordance with HER Project requirements with field staff and Provincial manager.
- Significant contribution in preparing and analyzing the quarterly HMIS reports both soft copy and hard copy and submitting to MOPH/ HMIS department.
- Provide technical and managerial support to enhance immunization services in targeted province.
- Present the updated health information of the related province to the Program Director and other management team monthly and when required.
- Conduct weekly coordination meeting with the provincial team on project implementation and providing technical guidance to the provincial team.
- Assess the progress of activities toward the project objectives and targets.
- Advise the Program Director and deputy health Program Director regarding the deviation of activities from the objective and targets.
- Ensure the effective and efficient implementation of all established norms and standards for achievements according to BPHS/EPHS and MoPH/Donor standards policies and guidelines.
- Ensure the availability of all health-related policies, standards, protocols and guidelines at provincial level
- Manage over all implementation of the work-plan in the field and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and final report of project activities
- Conduct supervision and monitoring visits from the field each quarter and when needed and provide feedback to the technical team of the HER project in the proposed province.
- Organize and manage weekly/monthly coordination meetings with provincial team, discuss their problems and provide appropriate feedback in this regard.
- Advocate at central level with JACK main office to address the challenges of the project and recommend valid recommendations to the program.
- Up-date the medicines order, medical supplies and equipment according to BPHS, HER standards and ensure provision of medical and nonmedical supply to the target province through related department/section.
- Ensure active participation of provincial team in all coordination forums such as Health and Nutrition clusters, UNICEF, MOPH, PHCC, UNOCHA, and task force working group at provincial and regional levels.
- Assist HR department in recruitment of technical staff and provide expert support to other departments in the development of JACK policy and guidelines responsive to current and future needs.
- Undertake regular quality control, collection and analysis of data/information and contribute to the development, production and supply of training materials/ modules/manuals for project related training and education.
- Ensure overall technical quality of services and quality or technical inputs in the province.
- Responsible for preparing informative, timely and accurate technical activity reports from the field that will be incorporated into the overall project reports.
- Ensure that appropriate skills and knowledge transfer activities are occurring as planned.
- Prepare and follow-up the project budget lines.
- Perform any other task as assigned by the Program Director.

Job Requirements: |
- Graduate from a recognized medical faculty and having master’s degree in public health will be an asset.
- Minimum 5 years work experience managing or supervising BPHS/EPHS project implementation.
- Ability to identify project weaknesses and gaps and to take corrective action.
- Excellent written and verbal communication is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and deal successfully in a multi-cultural environment is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language and fluent in a local language.
- Ability to work under pressure, flexible and able to perform multi-task,
- Ability to create a supportive working relationship with all project teams.
