Job Purpose: |
The central role of this middle management level position is to assist the Sponsorship project coordinator in the implementation of the Sponsorship Project. She/he is responsible for supervising the work of Child Protection social workers and working closely with district government authorities, and local Shuras (CBCPN, CG, PTA, and student councils) and ensuring that the program is implemented in high-quality standards and in the best interest of children. |
Job Responsibilities: |
She/He is accountable for carrying out the following key roles and responsibilities but are not limited to:
- Lead on the establishment and strengthening of child protection mechanisms at the community level (CBCPNs and CGs)
- Engage with community stakeholders, and religious leaders on promoting child rights to education and protection.
- Lead facilitation.
- Work closely with children to promote child participation and ensure children have meaningful engagement in all aspects of the project.
- Work with communities on identifying out-of-school children and challenges in education and support community-led actions and social behavior change approaches to ensure all girls and boys have equal access to education.
- Support linkage of community-based CP mechanisms with JACK, and school management to better support all children especially those out of school or at risk of dropouts.
- To work across sectors and departments to coordinate and plan activity implementation, capacity building opportunities, including trainings and workshops, and to support service mapping and referral pathways
- Work closely with project coordinator, Education and ECCD component to regularly review DIP, Develop monthly plans, prepare monthly reports and progress updates
- To design and implement orientation and trainings base on staff needs, and to provide on the job coaching and mentoring for staff and facilitators on project management, activity implementation and CP themes, including safe identification and referrals.
- Facilitate ongoing monitoring and assessment of project activities to address child protection concerns and complaints received through the CRM.
- Case management supervision considering case requirements as identified in case plans, facilitating regular case conferences and monitoring and coaching of staff
- Identify key lessons learnt from project reviews and evaluations and facilitate workshops to share findings.
- Attend relevant inter-agency coordination meetings, workshops, and conferences as required and assigned by the Line Manager.
- Maintain an effective filing system for storing project documentation safely and confidentially, by standard procedures.
- Report any child safeguarding concerns related to Save the Children Child Safeguarding focal point considering the SCI - Child Safeguarding Policy
- Assisting MEAL in conducting project surveys and proper monitoring
- Any other tasks related to child protection programs given by the line manager.

Job Requirements: |
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience like the position of national and international NGOs.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or social science.
- Knowledge of Child Protection and case management
- Strong communication skills.
- Very good spoken and written Pashto, Dari – understanding of the English language is essential.
- The position will be based in Faryab with frequent travels to the districts.
