Job Purpose:
The central role of this middle management level position is to assist the Education senior officer/Sponsorship coordinator on the implementation of the Sponsorship Project ECCD component. She/he is responsible to supervise the work of ECCD Assistants and Teachers and work closely with district government authorities, local Shuras (CECs, SMCs, CEC, and SC) and ensure that the program is implemented in high-quality standard and on the best interest of children. The ECCD is reportable to Project Manager. The following items are the main responsibilities of Field Monitor/Social Mobilization:
Job Responsibilities:

She/He is accountable to carry out the following key role and responsibilities but not limited to:

  • She/he will assist the Program/Project coordinator in establishing appropriate systems/mechanisms to implement the ECCD program in partnership with communities and district education authorities.
  • Understand the purpose, rules & regulation of Preschool, and ECCD at the field level.
  • Supervise the work of ECCD assistants, ECCD teachers and assist them in the delivery of project work plan.
  • Follow up the implementation of the Detailed Implementation Plans (DIPs) for all components of the project.
  • Support development of ECCD training packages, and conduct quality trainings on ECCD for parents, teachers, and relevant stakeholders
  • Organize and lead participatory workshops/meetings in the village for implementation of the ECCD program and project relevant activities.
  • Work closely with children to promote child participation and ensure children have meaningful engagement in all aspects of project.
  • Work with communities on identifying out of school children and challenges on education and support community-led actions and social behavior changes approaches to ensure all girls and boys have equal access to education.
  • Support the ECCD supervisors in the implementation of the fieldwork by having proper on job training and mentoring planning.
  • Closely Coordinate and support the relevant activities of the project with SCI field staff in a timely manner.
  • Maintain close coordination with community shura, local elders to promote children rights and sensitize parents on enrolling children in ECCD classes.
  • Regularly monitor ECCD classes and provide technical guidance and on the job support to ECCD teachers and project staff.
  • Establish linkage between ECCD classes and relevant hub-schools and track children enrolment into primary grades and continuation of their education.
  • Providing technical assistance to MEAL officer in the process of project data collections and data management.
  • Report any CP and CSG concerns to CP focal point.
  • Assist the Project Manager in producing project progress reports, quarterly reports, and annual reports, and or as per donor reporting schedule.
  • Update the filling system daily, weekly, and monthly bases with incoming and outgoing correspondence with DED, PED, and MOE.
  • Carry out any other relevant task assigned by the line manager and project team.
Job Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience similar on position of national and international NGOs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or social science.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Very good spoken and written Pashto, Dari – understanding of the English language is essential.
  • The position will be based in Faryab with frequent travels to the districts.
