Job Purpose:
The District Coordinator is reportable to JACK CBE Senior Officer. The following items are the main responsibilities of District Education Coordinator:
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all CBE related activities in the field and implementation of project at district level with close coordination with project stakeholders and target groups.
  • Overall responsible for district operation, staff management (Field Monitor and Teacher Trainer) and other outstanding issues in district level.
  • To monitor and supervise district level staff on a day-to-day basis at the district level through field visits.
  • To ensure good working relations to members of the concerned villages.
  • To assist the levels staff & district team in planning and overseeing implementation of projects activities at the community level.
  • Registration of CBCs with Hub school or DED, for having number ASAS.
  • To promote and initiate meetings between communities, government agencies, INGOs, and other actors at the district level.
  • Cope with local problem and always propose options for conflicts and local tensions for proper solutions.
  • To ensure trainers conduct relevant trainings to the community members with special focus on female and people with disabilities inclusion in the trainings and other project activities.
  • To actively evaluate the security situation at district level and implement strong adherence by staff on security regulations and precautions.
  • Keep proper and updated records of all district level activities, and filling system.
  • Proper tracking/updating of the output matrix on quarter base.
  • Assist project activities in the selection of target groups and supervise data collection.
  • Ensure that proper community development practices and “Do No Harm”.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Teacher Trainers and guide them accordingly.
  • Through transfer of own knowledge and skills, enhances the ability of Teacher Trainers and Field Monitors.
  • Assist Teacher Trainer during training by giving technical input and model lessons.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in education. Social Science and Psychology or Educational Administration
  2. Minimum of 4 years’ working experiences on similar positions of CBE Education Program with national and international NGOs.
  3. Excellent Pashto and Dari reading, writing and verbal skills, Fluent in English, reading, writing and verbal skills.
  4. Travel – The position will be based in Herat with frequent travels to the districts.
  5. District Coordinator is required to have his own transportation/motorbike, the office will pay for fuel.
  6. District Coordinator is required to have his own smart phone for ODK purpose.
  7. Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity; Ability to travel throughout province.
  8. Respect confidentiality of organization.
  9. Ability to use information technology effectively
