Job Purpose:
The Surveyor is reportable to JACK Project Manager. The Surveyor will spend some of his/her time to provinces for supporting the projects. The following items are the main responsibilities of Surveyor: Conduct regular meetings with communities and explain the purpose of the program and survey. Conduct data collection surveys through online and offline ways of Kobo and ensure that all data is collected accurately. Consider all the defined criteria to assess vulnerable families and collect their information. Able to coordinate activities and ensure proper data collection in the process. Ensure on-time data submission and data entry to the systems and databases. Travel to the target districts, and villages and conduct surveys and consult with CDC and community elders, and local government authorities for identification and selection of vulnerable and poor people. Conducting House to House surveys and selecting the eligible project beneficiaries. Taking photos/video clips of the beneficiaries during the survey. The surveyor should have the ability and skill to fill out the questioner properly. Submit completed surveys and record locations visited each day.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or similar field required.
  • At least 2 years work experience in relevant field.
  • Highly skilled in the use and operation of the latest survey equipment, levelling instrument,
  • Is able to converse easily in English, both verbal and written. Fluent in both Dari and Pashtu, verbal and written.
  • Highly proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil CAD, MX Road Design.
  • Is able to demonstrate attention to detail and patience.
  • Ability to overcome challenges and work in difficult work environments/conditions.
  • Be able and willing to travel to all provinces and remote location in Afghanistan, including volatile and insecure areas

Other Skills:

  • Previous experience as a surveyor or in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of GPS and GIS 
  • Tech savvy, including familiarity with CAD software
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Great organizational and leadership skills 
  • Valid certificate is required
