Job Purpose:
The Project Manager is reportable to JACK General Director. The Project Manager will spend some of his/her time to provinces for supporting the projects. The following items are the main responsibilities of Project Manager: Oversee the project’s day-to-day activities as indicated in the project documents and M&E plan and donor agreements, as well as the successful implementation of programming strategies. Serve as point person for the project, and provide strategic and technical leadership to the project staff and partners for all of its components. Lead the planning of program activities and set high-quality performance targets ensuring adherence to technical standards, project quality programming standards, best practices, and donor guidelines. Use appropriate management tools to plan, review and track project implementation progress as well as the utilization of project resources. Support the Food Security M&E Officer and main office M&E department in the development and implementation of strong M&E systems using appropriate tools and resources to maximize project impact on beneficiaries. Continuously support the professional development of the team by providing clear orientation, feedback and learning opportunities. Oversee management and maintenance of up-to-date documentation related to project approval, monitoring and implementation in both hard and soft copy. Promote strong linkages and exchange with other vertical projects, engaged in similar programming to ensure the sharing of best practices and expertise. Closely monitor events in CP (humanitarian situation, politics, and security, etc.), in order to identify other potential program areas and partners for project. Ensure excellent collaborative working relationships with local partners. Ensure timely and quality preparation of donor project narrative reports, quarterly performance indicator tracking tables, baseline and final evaluation reports, as well as other reports needed/required by the local government, donors, the region or headquarters as per reporting schedule. Advise senior management about strategic programming directions and issues affecting project implementation, or key local issues affecting future grants/projects developments. Ensure proper financial management systems are in place and followed in coordination with the donor program-based finance department. Ensure project management compliance with donor regulations. Ensure that systems are in place for the management of equipment and local procurement activities in support of the project’s successful implementation. Ensure that all the resources are utilized in an efficient way and the targets are achieved within the given timeline Any other tasks assigned by top management

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  1. At least 4-5 years of proven experience in the field of Agriculture, for MBA degree at least 3 years work experience.
  2. Master’s degree in agricultural economics, agribusiness management or Agronomy.
  3. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  4. Strong communications skills;
  5. Fluent English, Pashto, and Dari with excellent speaking and writing skills;
  6. Proficient computing skills – word processing, spreadsheet design and presentations.
