Job Purpose:
The Gender/PSEA Officer is reportable to JACK Project Manager. The Gender/PSEA Officer will spend some of his/her time to provinces for supporting the projects. The following items are the main responsibilities of Gender/PSEA Officer: Support the implementation of the PSEA and Gender policies within the organization. Respond to requests and provide advice, assistance, and solutions to project staff related to gender equality and women’s empowerment both in development and humanitarian contexts. Coordinate capacity development activities involving knowledge sharing, organization of training workshops, awareness raising, seminars, and meetings as well as the development of related materials and online tools and information kits on gender and gender-related developments Support all Project components in all aspects of gender equality and social inclusion. Provide transactional support in training management and all project personnel and PESCs key personnel in the project’s gender and diversity norms. Assist the Project Managers to develop and improve gender inclusion and awareness and activities including improvement of women and options for participation. Prepare technical and other reports, monthly or as required, and maintain gender-segregated data. Maintain record of the PSEA cases.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor Degree in Social Science or Law
  2. At least 3 years of experience working in gender, PSEA, or other relevant experience.
  3.  Strong report writing skills required;
  4.  Ability to work independently, think analytically, and take initiative in solving problems;
  5.  Ability to communicate technical issues effectively;
  6.  Experience in conducting assessments;
  7.  Desirable - Working with highly vulnerable and displaced people would be added advantage;
  8.  Good verbal communication skills in local languages and working knowledge of English;
  9.  Most importantly, commitment to STARS values and principles;
  10.  A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with groups of diverse backgrounds.
