Job Purpose:
The Extension Worker is reportable to JACK Project Manager. The Extension Worker will spend some of his/her time to provinces for supporting the projects. The following items are the main responsibilities of Extension Worker: Assess the existing situation of agricultural extension and rural support services in target areas. Provide villages list in specific districts in coordination with CDCs and district-level Shuras. Beneficiary selection for agriculture inputs (Wheat seed, Urea, and DAP fertilizers) through beneficiary profile survey according to the criteria in close collaboration with the district-level committee. Build and maintain a network with district-level governmental and non-governmental authorities Extension Workers will attend meetings at the district level and prepare reports to the Project manager. Take an active part in the agriculture input distribution process, and make sure the process is smooth and safe. Provide and deliver technical advice/training on wheat cultivation and pest management, including wheat seed cultivation, the importance of wheat, selection of wheat seed and wheat seed variety, preparation of bed for wheat seed cultivation, weed & diseases control in wheat crop and insect control. Providing weekly activity/process reports (beneficiary selection, inputs distribution, and post-distribution survey). Provide Agriculture extension services to farmers that are input provision, land preparation, production, agro-processing, and commercialization of the agricultural products (wheat crops) through various methods of extension and training. The extension worker should work closely with formers and livestock groups

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Economics, Engineering, Social Sciences or any other related field with 3 years’ of relevant experience.
  2. Working knowledge of the sector and experience in livestock.
  3. Good report and success stories writing skills.
  4. Computer knowledge (should know office packages and internet)
  5. Ability to remain organized and punctual.
  6. Ability in English language (verbal and written communication.

  • Have the ability to work under pressure.
  • Sound organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete assignments on time.
