Job Purpose:
Project Manager (SBC) will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the SBC project and other related interventions in Takhar province with a special focus on community interventions. The Project manager is expected to contribute to writing well-grammar, spelling and context all count proposals and reports. His key asset would be the ability to support the SBC program coordinator in all project-related activities. Moreover, She/he is responsible to generate Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual, and project reports.
Job Responsibilities:

Provincial Project Manager is reportable to the Project Coordinator and Technical Director of the organization and the following are the main responsibility of the position:

  • Manage the assigned SBC project(s) to meet the project objectives within the allocated budget and time frame and report promptly any operational concerns to Project Coordinator.
  • Provide strong leadership of the assigned SBC interventions project team to ensure both, short and long-term positive impacts and outcomes for the beneficiaries and local SBC staff.
  • Contribute to development and implementation of effective SBC interventions including project planning, staff capacity building, data collection, reporting and monitoring, and development of job aids and data quality assurance processes.
  • Oversee proactive planning for responsible exit in consultation with Program Director and other technical staff at the country office.
  • Continuously monitor and supervise project activities, evaluating progress through outputs and impacts using both quantitative and qualitative data, and involving SBC team(s) (and where applicable local authorities/staff in analysis and taking appropriate action as needed to ensure continued progress.
  • Prepares project work-plan/action plan and manage overall implementation of the work plan in the field
  • Attempt for extension and sustainability of the projects and propose/recommend allocation of the field staff.
  • Ensures proper field staff management and coordination, identification of project, staff, and administration needs
  • Provides expert support to field and provincial office staff in the government policies and standards.
  • Develops/implements appropriate office systems/procedures, supervises staff, and prepares JD with health director.
  • Establishes and maintains effective channels of communications and works closely with relevant government institutions, Central Office and internal project team participants to schedule necessary resources at provincial level;
  • Ensures that all accounting and financial systems are in place, preparation of budgets and reports;
  • Assess work performance through timely supervision, monitoring and evaluation and oversees and supports a timely, efficient implementation of all local activities;
  • Ensure the achievement of program objectives in compliance with relevant governmental institution’s national policy approach.
  • Implement continuous follow-up and exchange of information with the main office.
  • Ensure regular project reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) in a timely manner and in compliance with donor format/guidelines to main office.
  • ensure that inventory of all asset and maintain of health facilities and perform any other required project-related tasks.
  • Line-manage the Master Trainers and office staff of the assigned project(s), including day-to-day management, development and training, appraisals, etc.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to assist information sharing between project staff, to ensure all staff members are aware of project objectives and current work plans and to provide the opportunity for feedback.
Job Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in Project management
  • Bachelor/Masters in Management or Social Sciences;
  • Strong communications skills;
  • Fluent English, Pashto, and Dari with excellent speaking and writing skills
  • Proficient computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, design and presentations
