Job Responsibilities: |
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Manage the implementation of CBEs as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CBE program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
- Provide technical support and monitor the District Coordinators, Social Mobilizers/Field Monitors and teacher trainers in the field and provide on time technical support for smooth running of the CBE activities in the field.
- Build excellent relations with CBE focal points in both UNICEF and PED offices as well as lower staff under the supervision for their support and updates.
- Ensure the MoE’s latest CBE policy has been fully considered in all phases of CBE project implementation in Helmand.
- Improving quality of the education program through field monitoring.
- Provide inputs for monthly reports of the project activities.
- Contribute in preparation of the annual work plan and budget for the project.
- Ensure that Field Monitors have appropriate action plans and monitor the field activities.
- Promote an attitude of team spirit with a strong focus on quality.
- Assist education project manager in revision and follow up of education project budget.
- Act according to the policy and regulations of JACK and education directives.
- Analyze implementation challenges and report any inconsistencies and/or gaps to inform line supervisors for further adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. Coordinate and oversee working relationships with Teacher Training Senior Officer and all other local project stakeholders and serve as the liaison between them and the project team to mobilize local actors and promote project activities and impact.
- Support and coordinate capacity building and technical support activities to ensure assigned project activities are implemented per project guidelines and standards.
- Coordinate provision of any logistical and administrative support to staff and partners.
- Ensure project documentation for assigned activities is complete with all required documents and is filed per agency and donor requirements.
- Close Coordination and required support to the Education Manger and Master Trainers to plan and implement teaching quality activities
- Identify challenges in the implementation of project activities with the team and offer ideas for potential solutions
Technical Tasks
- Develop training manuals and contents in line with the UNICEF and MoE’s instructions.
- Feel responsible for quality outcomes of all capacity development activities (teachers as well as JACK and local education authorities’ staff) implemented in Helmand.
- Maintain regular follow up of the teacher training courses and other capacity development activities through regular field visits, technical follow ups and technical impact assessments.
Training Tasks
- Through transfer of own knowledge and skills, enhances the ability of FMs, DC and Teacher Trainers.
- Identify training needs of the FMs and DCs and give recommendations to Education Project Manager.
- Train FM and DCs on Needs Assessment, Planning, Monitoring, Report writing and on spot support to the teachers.

Job Requirements: |
- Bachelor Degree in Education. Social Science and Psychology or Educational Administration (Master’s degree is preferred)
- Minimum of 4 years’ working experiences on similar positions of CBE Education Program with national and international NGOs.
- Excellent Pashto and Dari reading, writing and verbal skills, Fluent in English, reading, writing and verbal skills.
- Travel – The position will be based in Parwan/Kunduz with frequent travels to the districts.

- Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and harsh conditions; ability to handle confidential and politically sensitive issues in a responsible and mature manner;
